J is for Jazz

Experience the rich history, vibrant language, and energizing spirit of jazz with "J is for Jazz," an interactive musical theater event that honors the life and legacy of Oscar Brown Jr.  

Blending storytelling with live jazz performance, this engaging production tells the story of two siblings. When Jae’s brother Jason discovers her singing a jazz tune for an audition, she seizes the moment to teach her annoying little brother about the richness and beauty of jazz. As their playful exchange unfolds, audiences are drawn into a vibrant exploration of the music’s history, rhythm, and cultural impact. 

Audiences will be treated to special guest artists Maggie and Africa Brown (Oscar Brown Jr.'s daughters) as they reminisce about their father through poetry and music.
