Bradley Smith, Ph.D.

FACULTY PROFILE Bradley Smith is an Associate Professor of English and serves as the Director of First-year Writing. His research focuses primarily on the subjects of writing pedagogy and writing program administration. He has worked at Governors State University since 2013. Prior to GSU, he taught as a lecturer at Columbia College Chicago. Dr. Smith earned his Ph.D. in English Studies from Illinois State University in 2010 and an M.A. in English Studies in 2003, also from ISU.

Dr. Smith's scholarship can be read in journals, such as College Composition and Communication, Journal for the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning, and Mosaics. Additionally, he has published book chapters and online materials, and regularly presents at disciplinary conferences, including the Conference on College Composition and Communication and the Council of Writing Program Administrators Annual Conference.
