Biography
FACULTY PROFILE Dr. Michael Williams is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Governors State University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Economics (2005; Finance and Mathematics minors) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Indiana (2008). He received his Master of Arts in Applied Economics (2008; Econometrics concentration) from the University of Cincinnati and a PhD in Business Administration (2012; Finance concentration) from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
TEACHING Michael is currently teaching Principles of Financial Management along with a range of Investments-related courses (e.g. Undergraduate and Master's-level Investments and Derivatives courses).
RESEARCH Michael's current research interests include investments in general as well as commodity and currency derivatives, in particular. Additionally, Michael studies linkages among various asset markets and how these transmission channels may be impacted by external influences. Michael has also branched out into the field of real estate economics, finance, and valuation. Curriculum Vitae
